| 324633 | 2005-02-13 09:45:00 | I have a Compaq Presario 1700T and every so often when left on for a long time the screen will fade to all white. Then when turned on again it will immediately fade to white. When it's left for a few hours and turned on it'll work for a while but then the screen turned white. The external monitor plug doesn't work (Fn + F3 doesn't work and Windows doesn't recognize an external monitor when it's attached) so I connected it to a TV with the s-video out. When the screen faded to all white the computer froze. So I turned it off and disconnected the LCD screen (by taking apart the laptop a bit). Then it booted fine. Then I played a short movie and looped it. It played for 24 hours and the TV (s-video out) never went white and the computer never froze. I think there is something wrong with the screen. Has anybody had this problem before? Do I have to replace the LCD or just the LCD inverter or what? thanks. -Daniel |
