324339 2005-02-13 19:43:00 Did you go to add/remove programs and uninstall the Bargain Buddy entry??

Or try the removal steps from the Symantec site?

324341 2005-02-13 20:02:00 None of those folders have anything to do with it Drcspy. Speedy Gonzales (78)
324342 2005-02-13 22:34:00 really ? in my experience many spyware type of programs and viruses put listings in those places.........activex controls reside in the c:/windows/doenloaded programs folder and similarily put listings in the prefetch folder...... drcspy (146)
324343 2005-02-13 22:42:00 Yup really.

This maybe spyware BUT it also installs a program and program files folder.

As it says on the Symantec site.

324344 2005-02-14 20:18:00 I cleaned out everything hijack this showed as harmfull.
I cleaned out my reg.
I scanned my pc over and over again.
I have a reg cleaner and ran that.
I have removed bargain buddy from the add/remove and it has not shown up in there. But still shows up when I restart. My pc has way to many programs on it to do a total reboot.
I will win the battle with bargain buddy it may take forever but sooner or later I will get it out of here.

Thanks again so much for all the tips, I have never joined a forum before.
I am glad I came across this one. :D

324345 2005-02-14 20:28:00 Did you go to the Symantec site and check the entries in the registry relating to Bargain Buddy? To see if they were still there? Speedy Gonzales (78)
324346 2005-02-14 20:50:00 I think the posters here are simply using Google. I just tried it and there are heaps of responses to "bargain buddy remove". (Without the quotes).

Not that I'm trying to put you off or anything but it's worth having a look yourself but as also pointed out above watchout for malware posing as anti-malware. See if you recognise the sites or forums first.

Be wary. You already have a problem.

324348 2005-02-14 22:39:00 Did you go to run \msconfig \ startup and check there
also while you are in there look for it in system.ini and win.ini
