| 324503 | 2005-02-12 23:19:00 | I am trying to reestablish our home network between two xp computers. have recently installed zone alarm network works one way ie. the computer that connects to the internet can access the other, but not the other way around, I get the message that MS Home is not accessible &/or I do not have permission. when I click repair connection it tells me the IP could not be renewed, could the firewall be stopping this? any help appreciated! |

| 324505 | 2005-02-13 03:45:00 | could the firewall be stopping this? Yes, it could, both the Windows firewall and ZoneAlarm. It is a good idea to temporarily disable all firewalls whilst setting up your network but ensure that you are not connected to the internet first, though. |

| 324506 | 2005-02-13 04:08:00 | Have accessed the zone alarm zones tab and made the network card and the other computer trusted (on the computer that connects to the internet) microsoft firewall is not turned on But the other computer still has nothing in the my network places folder and the error message says that I don't have access permission to the other (internet ) computer. how do i resolve that? |

| 324508 | 2005-02-13 04:59:00 | yes i have (lets call the one that connects to the internet #1 and the other #2 :@@: ) in the add network place wizard on #2 there is the computer name for #1 but when you click on it you can't select it the shared files folder on #2 has only it's own shared files in it, whereas the shared files folder on #1 has files from both computers available in it it is some logon /accessibility problem to read files off #1 computer from #2 the internet works fine through the network |
