| 325274 | 2005-02-15 07:46:00 | My Dad tinkers around with old computers & calls me when he gets stuck which till now hasn't been a problem. But this one's got me stumped. Upon starting the machine the PSU fires up, all fans are whirring but no hdd activity, no post etc. But there are a couple of sentences of Japanese/Chinese coming from the system speaker??????????? What the hell is all that about? I'm assuming the BIOS is stuffed or the battery may be flat which I've told him to replace & try again Anyone have any ideas please No "get a translator" jokes please Thanks |

You may find the same thing here, and the language is set for Chinese or something. The BIOS settings might have changed due to it being reset or something. I think my motherboard vocal messages are controlled via software, so you might not be able to disable or change these unless you get Windows to load, but have a look in the BIOS incase your one is controlled via a BIOS setting. | Jen (38) | ||
