325246 2005-02-16 21:46:00 I am now leaning towards phpBB as software of choice .

Yeah PHPBB is great - several people I know who've tried it wouldn't use anything else now . The ones I run are plain vanilla, but it's hugely and easily customisable . Also there's great support for it on their official forums .

Good luck .

325247 2005-02-17 20:15:00 Thanks again. Have looked at their site and forums and I think they have swayed me to go phpBB. Will be a slow proces - need to install mySQL at home and test it out on my machine before putting it on the web. scarfie (7324)
325248 2005-02-17 20:23:00 I run a Phbb board as well,Has quite a loyal little group of users.

As you can see it ain't vanilla anymore,But I merely used a downloaded theme, Took all of 8 seconds.

The board is provided as part of my hosting package from http://kiwiwebhost.co.nz/

325250 2005-02-17 20:46:00 hmmm.....Sounds like a good idea, Though I have largely turned the running of thw entire site over to the group of yanks who provide all the content, and next billing cycle I intend to hand the cost their way as well. Metla (12)
325251 2005-02-17 20:54:00 Bah - I tried to sign into the forum but COPA rejected me - I must have clicked the under 13 yo link by mistake! :D

Nevermind. Your idea of metal and mine probably don't agree - mine is of LedZep era - call me 40+ if you will but those were the days!
Greg (193)
325252 2005-02-17 21:04:00 Can't stand Led Zep, Though I like bands from all era's from Black Sabbath through Judas Preist,Iron Maiden,Slayer,Motorhead.

All the good gear.

Lmao.

For what its worth, What is covered by the site isn't in tune with what I listen to very often.

325253 2005-02-17 21:15:00 How about the old Brit band Slade! My mum used to think they were "heavy" LOL! And what about Grand Funk Railroad *sigh* :)

Can you think of a more imagintaive band name!? ;)
Greg (193)
325254 2005-02-17 21:18:00 Heh.....I have albums from both those bands on LP somewhere, Well, at least i did, When I went to Aussie I stored all my junk in my parents shed, Then one day the old boy decided his space was worth more then my junk and threw away hundreds and hundreds of my LP's.

The entire Kiss collection, all unplayed original releases imported from America,Europe and Japan.

Terrible music, But worth thousands.

325255 2005-02-17 21:22:00 "Kiss" I have a photo somewhere of an ex with the group backstage. Ick! lol

Used to like them a lot until I realised what a lack of talent they had :yuck:
