| 325178 | 2005-02-15 00:12:00 | hi, I my friend has woosh wireless and the connection speeds are very slow. even when u does the speed test it says he's connected at 160kb he still downloads at about 3kb/sec and web pages are slow to load. he's upgraded his firmware and got a booster antenna installed by a tech. Has anyone got any tips to make the woosh connect go faster(OTHER THAN THESE INTERNET BOOSTER PROGRAMS THAT MODIFY THE REGISTER) Also what do Woosh limit ur speed to when you reach ur monthly cap????? 56kbps????? |

Anyways, YES, after exceeding your bandwidth, your speed will be dropped to 56k. The speed of your connection apparantly depends on the location of your modem or the booster. And I doubt your connection is actually getting 3kps. Woosh is funny when it comes to measuring speeds because the speed is not the same all the time. When playing online games, the speed changes all the time so woosh is not great for gaming you see. (I don't do too bad with woosh online actually). Enjoy! |

Try downloading a file off a fast server and test the speed with that. IE6 won't give you an accurate reading though. Something like NetLimiter might. |
