325021 2005-02-14 13:09:00 Hi...

Just wondering if this is a good idea or not...

300W Hyena PSU
AMD XP3000
ASUS A7V600-x
GF4 MX4000
CDRW

Is that OK?... its not like its powering heaps of hard drives... just an XP3000... which is wat I'm worried about..

As long as its getting as many amps as it needs its fine huh?

325022 2005-02-14 14:46:00 Don't worry, it won't be powering anything in less than ~2weeks.

I reckon it will be fine, although those Hyena PSU's are pretty crap. I would recommend a good brand 400+W PSU if you were going to run a better vid card. (Radeon X800, Geforce 6800)

325024 2005-02-14 23:21:00 forget the hyna crap. get something decent thata 350w or above.

the cheap psu's are okish as long as they are well over speced for the job. eg in your case you could get away with a 400w, any less is just going cause you more problems than its worth. if you can afford it get a real PSU !
