| 325342 | 2005-02-15 19:55:00 | Try Knoppix - Basically you're asking for something that runs off a Floppy entirely right? Not going to happen unless its just a firewall that you're after. DSL is only a 50MB Download? With Knoppix and (I believe...) most of its derivatives you can add an option at boot that will save your /home (Personal files/settings) to the likes of a thumbdrive, or inside a loopback file on another HDD. Try Damn Small Linux if you're after something small & a Bootable LiveCD. Chill. |

| 325343 | 2005-02-15 20:24:00 | Yep, if you want interaction without touching an HDD, you need a RAM disk. Otherwise you'd just be viewing files on a floppy or CD. I wonder though, if you had a distro set up on a thumb drive with some of the space partitioned off for memory it might be possible. Is that possible, it would still need to use system memory, right? |
