| 325832 | 2005-03-10 08:50:00 | I think it sounds like line probs rather than the PC. From the 1st post in this thread I've plugged in a laptop to the same line, and it doesn't have any problems. |

| 325833 | 2005-03-10 09:33:00 | Perhaps you could take the computer to someone else's house who has a computer working successfully on the telephone line and connect yours and see how it goes. That will definitely tell you whether it is the line or the modem/computer combination. I know it is a bit of a hassle but surely it would be worth it to determine the area of the fault. I think I remember some one saying on this forum that laptops were more immune to line noise than desk tops so your test with the lap top may not be that valid. |
