When it wouldn't boot in another comp and it won't boot in this one the hard drive obviously has a problem.
If it's causing the comp to shut down then it's something electrical
I'd get a professional opinion on the drive before you fry the rest of it
Have you used the same data cable all the way through on the 80GB, if so try another one. (It's unlikely but you never know)

325781 2005-02-17 06:31:00 Is this the drive with your boot partition. If it's not, suspect power shortage or short, if it is suspect either power shortage, short or faulty HDD.

Try swapping the molex plug that is currently feeding the 80GB to the 200GB, what happens?
