325865 2005-02-17 07:26:00 xtra doesnt charge me for hosting my own site right? cause on some forums iv read some people saying isps sometimes block port 80 as they dont want you to host your own site and if you unblock it and host your own site they charge you. Woodz (7310)
325866 2005-02-17 07:40:00 Xtra usually gives you so much space for your website, then charges you if you go over their space limit. Look on their site, it will tell you how much space you are allowed, depending on what plan you have. supergran (108)
325867 2005-02-17 07:44:00 Arnt you talking about there web site hosting service? im talking about hosting websites with jetstream hosting the site myself. Woodz (7310)
325868 2005-02-17 07:59:00 Sorry yes I was, I read it wrong. Ask them, that is usually the easiest way to find out! supergran (108)
325869 2005-02-17 09:25:00 No they won't. Traffic will count against your data cap as per normal.

Unless you pay the extortionate fee for a fixed IP, or use a dyndns service hosting on Xtra adsl is likely to be a pain - you shouldn't sell a service like that to clients if thats your plan.

If the ISP elects to block port 80, users can't unblock it.
