| 325792 | 2005-02-17 00:32:00 | For the last few weeks, my dailup keeps disconnecting. Sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after 20 minutes. It's very slow in downloading any webpages. Run Nortons, and has picked up nothing. Just installed another modem, and I'm still having the disconnect problems, although the speed had returned to normal. I've plugged in a laptop to the same line, and it doesn't have any problems. Running XP. Please help. | beanie (7346) | ||

| 325797 | 2005-02-17 08:49:00 | I'm with Slingshot. The new modem is just from Dick Smith's. It came with it's own drivers, but the problems are still there. I've already run Ad Aware, Spybot, and Nortons. Same problems as my old modem (which came with the PC). What else could it be? | beanie (7346) | ||

| 325801 | 2005-02-17 18:35:00 | :help: When connected, it connects at about 48 -50k's . I've gone through previous posts and tried what's already suggested, but nothing seems to work . And some of the posts are a bit old, so just wondering if someone can come up with something now . Maybe there's a more recent problem that's cropped up?? The thing with the line, when I plug the laptop in, there's no problems . Tried putting in init strings as well - no difference . Seems to disconnect even sooner now . Stayed connected for about 1/2 hour straight after I replaced the modem . Any more ideas?? :help: |
