| 325395 | 2005-02-15 21:43:00 | Hi all below is the error message I get on my gmail account in outlook Task 'Google - Receiving' reported error (0x80042108) : 'Outlook is unable to connect to your incoming (POP3) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' I have two other mail accounts hooked up to outlook and they work fine, the problem is restricted to my gmail account. I think the problem stems from PC-Cillin converting my incoming mail server (pop) to localhost and making my user name myname/pop.gmail.com (if I convert them back to incoming mail server =pop.gmail.com and username = myname it works fine, till the next reboot), I've had this problem before and it was solved by defining the port as below [POP3] ListenPort=110 ConnectPort=110 but the problem on the g-mail account occurs in spite of the above setting already being set-up, so I am at a dead loss on how to deal with it Disabling my mail scanning is not an option I want any help would be apreciated Thanks Nigel |
