1380185 2014-07-27 05:52:00 would like to know what the numbers should be for a speed test, like what should they be etc. - just did mine, using "Speedtest.net by Ookla," ping - 36ms, download - 14.63 Mbps, upload - 0.95 Mbps

noticed the heading on speedtest on the Forum page, coincidental!!

1380186 2014-07-27 06:35:00 It depends what speeds you're paying for. What plan are you on and who is your ISP? Chances are they're fine though ~15 down and ~1 up is pretty normal for a home connection in NZ. icow (15313)
1380187 2014-07-27 06:35:00 Depends on what version of ADSL you are using or if you are on the fibre or not - and if you are what plan you have got. So there is not one answer to this!

ON SNAP! fibre I got:

Ping = 52 mS
Download = 27.07 Mbps
Upload = 9.42Mbps.

It always seems to be a bit below the quoted figure of 30/10Mbps.

1380188 2014-07-27 06:40:00 Thought that ping looked a bit slow so tried www.speedtest.net and got

Ping= 8mS
Download = 27.09Mbps
Upload = 9.68Mbps.

1380189 2014-07-27 06:47:00 ISP Telecom - don't know the ADSL version, but we're not on fibre just a Home package of 40Gb jayal (1291)
1380190 2014-07-27 06:52:00 Yours is fairly typical for a ADSL2+ connection. If that's what you have then it's fine.
I used to get very similar, now on VDSL I get about 24/10 www.speedtest.net

Had Xtra/Telcom around here on Saturday trying to peddle their services, they "claimed" they could give us a better deal / speed than out current ISP, SWMBO answered the door, all she said was can you beat 130+ in speed Plus unlimited usage ? ----- His reply -- :horrified "Sorry to bother you, good bye" and walked away --- Seems she listens sometimes when I talk :wub

Depends on the wireless standard you are using, the distance you are from the base station and how many people are using it. Even old IEEE802.11g is 54Mbps. IEEE802.11n is over 100Mbps so probably would not be the bottle neck for a speed test.
