| 1379093 | 2014-07-13 00:46:00 | My computer is being bombarded by a strange program utils.cdneurope.com It is very persistent, it is trying to get in many times per hour. I have AVAST anti-virus which is blocking it and it is telling me that a "threat has been detected". Does anyone know anything about this. I had a phone call several days ago from a person who claimed he was from Microsoft and he was telling me that I had 'problems' in my computer. I was VERY RUDE to him !! Could he be retaliating ?? Any information would be appreciated. IanS | IanS (924) | ||

What version of Java is installed?? if it's not 8 update 5 or 7 update 60, uninstall it. There should only be one version of Java installed (either for 32 or 64 bit, or both). If you're using 64 bit windows. And a 32 and 64 bit browser |

| 1379096 | 2014-07-14 00:13:00 | Thanks to Speedy and Wainuitech. I only have one version of Java installed. I have run Ccleaner Slim but the problem persists. Has anyone got any more ideas about it ? I have looked at 'Add Ons' but cannot see anything there that may be the cause. It is continually being blocked by AVAST but the notice continually popping up is just a nuisance. Running XP which was up to date when support ceased. |

| 1379097 | 2014-07-14 00:22:00 | Is conduit installed / in addons?? (support.mozilla.org) | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 1379098 | 2014-07-14 00:54:00 | CONDUIT does not appear in Add Ons. One thing that looks a bit odd under 'Extensions' is 'Site Matcher Pro 1.1' I do not know what that does. Should I remove it ? | IanS (924) | ||
| 1379099 | 2014-07-14 01:14:00 | May as well. Soon find out if thats the prob | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 1379100 | 2014-07-14 02:24:00 | Removing 'Site Matcher Pro 1.1' has got rid of the problem. I removed it, turned off System Restore, restarted and turned System Restore on again. No further sign of it. I have no idea at all how it got on to my computer. Perhaps it was a nasty person in eastern europe trying to get his nasty program on anywhere he could !! Thanks for help. |

So I would say you downloaded then installed something without looking what you were installing. If you download whatever, get it from the developers site, not any site |
