1365837 2014-01-22 18:35:00 I wanted to use a prepaid credit card, to use with Internet subscription websites.

So I got a Kiwibank "loaded" / prepaid credit card.

However 90% of the international websites rejected it.

I went to Kiwibank to close it, cash it out.

I've seen glaciers move faster than the Kiwibank queue.

When I finally got to the teller, he talked to two mangers, searched through 6 drawers and about 20 binders before he found the right form.

After his epic ten minutes search, he told me I need to pay a $15 fee!

So I left without closing it, went to an ATM and withdrew as much as I could.

1365838 2014-01-22 19:19:00 Is it a Prezzie card? Greg (193)
1365839 2014-01-22 19:33:00 I purchased it for myself; some call it a prezzy card.

1365841 2014-01-22 21:33:00 Strange ... I have a Kiwibank Visa debit card ... can't use it unless there's money in the account and I've never had a problem with using it online. I keep the balance really low and just transfer money into it when I use it online. I consider it a bit of a safety measure as anyone who gets all my details and tries to use them, ain't gonna get diddly squat out if it. SP8's (9836)
1365842 2014-01-22 21:45:00 Never considered it, I heard that with any debit card it is pretty common that you make a booking with a hotel and they take 2x the price as a temp deposit but b/c it is a debit card it can get into issues when you have other stuff to use.

I just have Kiwibank's Zero CC which is a fee-less card provided you use it once every 3 months doing your usual stuff, supermarket, petrol, cellphone top ups ..

1365843 2014-01-22 21:56:00 Strange . . . I have a Kiwibank Visa debit card . . . can't use it unless there's money in the account and I've never had a problem with using it online .

I believe that's a different type of card . I don't have a Kiwibank account .

As mentioned, my problem card is sometimes called a "pressy card" .

For example it doesn't have the normal "firstname lastname" imprinted on the card .

1365844 2014-01-22 23:23:00 The "Prezzy card" is a one off and can't be reloaded again unfortunalty.. paulw (1826)
1365845 2014-01-23 19:15:00 The "prezzy" card can be reloaded. Notice on this website, "prezzy card" and "loaded visa" are used interchangeably.

www.nzpost.co.nz

In any case, I believe it's accepted by few internet sales companies, based overseas.
