1365278 2014-01-16 02:49:00 Anyone of you on a similar boat?

I got a $19 combo plan for a New Yrs camp trip, for the phonecalls and the data which was useful for GPS, coordinating with the other attendees. The camp site didn't have cell coverage which I knew, the $19 was still more worth it than making those 20-30 odd short phonecalls and the 4hrs of aGPS on a casual prepay plan. I have done some voicecalls that I don't normally do, to use up the mins, usually use IM apps - still have 120mins and 990MB. Figured I'm not gonna renew it cos I just don't use them. I update apps at home, I only occasionally use GPS and the odd important email. If I had a more active social life eating out etc maybe I would use more and post on social media LOL. Might need to consume Youtube on the bus to use it up.

How I see it - it's pretty good as a secondary internet with broadband at home.

If I knew more about Skinny I may have gone with a Telecom freq handset.

Also thought about carryover units - unless you have times when it spikes up, if one doesn't use most of the units each month, it would just keep on carrying over until it expires right.

ok thanks I use Google maps navigation thing then also. If I start to post pics of my lunch might use more haha or if I am travelling and lodging away from home. for that maybe 1gb isn't enough thou if I was renting I may prefer mobile data instead of fixed line internet but. .....

isn't aGPS some data gprs or whatever, surely cannot be a free service to the customer. ...... with a prepay zero account balance.

Yeah it can be :p it doesn't use "internet data" just "which cell tower am I on and what's my signal strength like" sorta thing AFAIK.
