1365251 2014-01-15 23:38:00 I try never to let anyone send me anything via Fastway, but sometimes **** happens.
After the last two (signature required!) deliveries ended up in my letterbox, and signed for by the courier...

Here's their latest attempt at delivery:

Love how this is a predefined status option. I expect they use it a lot!
I also suspect they could win awards for their inefficiency. Why does anyone still use these clowns?

For the record, NZ Post\Courierpost, Toll and FedEx remain my top favourites.

1365252 2014-01-16 00:15:00 Absolutely hate Fastway. The number of times their couriers have signed for stuff themselves and just left it on a doorstep or whatever is mind boggling. Chilling_Silence (9)
1365253 2014-01-16 00:28:00 Fedex stands as my favourite. Purely for ordering online a copy of Microsoft office 2007 Enterprise online at 3pm, and receiving it at 8am next day, shipped from Singapore. the_bogan (9949)
1365254 2014-01-16 00:59:00 Ha! They must have heard me. Turned up minutes ago and I was even asked to sign for it. Amazing, considering how bad they've been in the past. Agent_24 (57)
1365255 2014-01-16 01:51:00 Castle Parcels / Posthaste (they must be like partners, because the 1st and 2nd parcel came on a Posthaste courier).

Did the same thing last week. The 1st parcel came from DTC systems in Auckland / Dominion Rd, and Jb hifi (a DVD). They sent a computer case, I paid for online. The courier signed it on behalf of me. I looked out the window when it arrived. Dont know if he was planning on coming down the drive. But, since I was checking the mail, I picked up the case, asked if he wanted a sig, (I know you're meant to sign it, since it's sig only).

He said no

The 2nd time, (again from the previous place, / a USB 3 to USB 2 cable), they left it in the letterbox. I only found out it had arrived by going to the courier site (after receiving a link for the courier tracking info). It said it was signed and said Post bo. I sent an email to customer service asking them who's this. I then found out from the guy at DTC systems (he rang my cell), saying check your letterbox. Sure enough it was in the letter box. A day later someone from Posthaste came back and found the door lol. And apologised.

The 3rd time was fine. Received a keyboard from Computerlounge thru NZ couriers. It was the only courier (so far), that came to the door, and I did sign the parcel

1365256 2014-01-16 02:25:00 Fastway are slow, dishonest scumbags. wratterus (105)
1365257 2014-01-16 02:44:00 Having used a lot of couriers extensively, to send and receive I can tell you generally it comes down to the individual driver for your area.

Here the Fastway guy is brilliant!

The pits is PBT, mostly, although since I refused to sign his last package at all and took it anyway, he has made a point of arriving here relatively quickly (for them) and at whatever time he has to. For instance last night at 8:45pm.

1365258 2014-01-16 02:47:00 PBT (Peter Baker Transport) are a bit mickey mouse, too. Their driver had a consignment for me "Out For Delivery" for about three days until I chased them up for it.

The driver's "excuse" was he didn't have any other parcels to deliver in my immediate area so was waiting until that happened before delivering everything at the same time ...

Service FAIL; excuse FAIL.

1365259 2014-01-16 05:33:00 Any time that you get a delivery that is signed for by the courier, ring the depot and deny receiving the item. Make them replace the item using their Carriers Liability Insurance - this is the only way you will discourage these lazy idiots.

They sign for it themselves because the company does not enforce the collection of a customer signature and they are too lazy (and because it costs them money) to redeliver it later.

1365260 2014-01-16 08:00:00 While in England over Christmas I ordered a replacement element for my Mums oven (old one blew 2 days after I arrived). I ordered it at 2pm from partmaster.co.uk by 8am the next morning I had an email telling me

the name of the courier company
the name of the driver
what time today it would turn up (between 3.30 & 4.30pm)
and there was a button to click if you weren't going to be home to have it delivered to a neighbour which sent a message straight to the driver.

It arrived when they said it would I was very impressed with the service especially since it was between Christmas and New Year
