| 1365571 | 2014-01-20 19:23:00 | Immediately thought about this article (www.stuff.co.nz) read last week when I heard about the quake today. What a coincidence. . NZ is part of the Ring of Fire, the east coast of the Nrth Island has a history already so nothing spooky about it. Couldn't believe the old lady on the news last night saying this one was far worse than the 1931 Napier quake she was in. What??!! So she escaped OK and her place was OK at the time, but look what a mess that one was and how many people died.....silly OB. |

Ps. there was a news item concerning a large quake expected off the off shore in Waiarapa area. lurks. |

Wellington/Waiarapa overdue for a big one, this little may have relieved the stress and put off the big day for another 50 years. But the biggy is still coming. If you want blamers blame the clowns who picked this windy, steep terrained and earthquake prone place for a capital city. Should have picked Collingwood. |

New Zealand is really a p r i c k of a place to live, there isn't much flat land to build on and in ChCh. they built on a b l o o d y great swamp. Too tired no doubt to go further in land after trudging over the Port Hills. Lurking. |

If Wellington hadn't been the capitol then it would just be a small provincial town with a ferry terminal about the size of Picton I suspect. The should uproot parliament and relocate it to the Waikato where there is plenty of land and no earth quakes.. |
