1380093 2014-07-26 01:16:00 What do you guys recommend for a wireless router capable of connecting to Telecom's Fibre ONT?

The free TG587n V3 looks pretty OK, is there any better ones to recommend?

1380094 2014-07-26 02:53:00 When you say better, what are your requirements? Plenty of better stuff out there but it's budget vs needs really. The Huawei HG659/b they give as a business device isn't bad, 802.11AC, Gig switching etc. Have seen them go for $50 on TM. Alex B (15479)
1380095 2014-07-26 05:30:00 Isn't this a consensus opinion in this forum that the free Telecom routers are terrible stuff?

Chilling: have you tested this model?

1380097 2014-07-26 06:11:00 Can't stand the TG587, first tried them 2 years back, they've not improved.

The Huawei kit, not much better... Looks good on paper, but in practice it falls over regularly under any load.

Why not just go for something like a Gargoyle router?

1380098 2014-07-26 06:14:00 The old Technicolours/Thompsons were not great, in saying that for a basic 1-2 device user I found them OK. The Huawei ones are fine from my limited playing with them. Once again it really depends on your use case. Alex B (15479)
1380099 2014-07-26 09:46:00 Which make and model of Gargoyle router can be connected to the Fibre ONT?

Not any router can be used with the fibre ONT, right? What's the requirement?
