One thing I did notice when trying it ( non infected machine) you have to point it to the files that are encrypted, so I guess there "may" be some more cleaning up to do afterwards, BUT if it works it would be great. :) |

Sooner or later It will get tested ;) Got the infection here from what I know, But to activate it needs a internet connection, and an antivirus that doesn't detect it, or no AV installed. To allow it through I'd have to bypass my LAN, which would be a pain to connect directly to the modem. kaspersky must have found some "backdoor" or something, As I thought the encryption was rather strong and very hard / time consuming to crack. |

If you go to Kaspersky's website and read the info about it they show some screenshots of what the virus will do on your computer and they don't look anything like the Cryptolocker ones. I'm sure if it did work with it we would have heard a lot more about this tool. |
