326214 2005-02-18 19:15:00 I keep getting a message coming up saying, "Norton Internet Worm Protection has detected a remote system that is attempting to access your computer". I can then permit or block this. It doesn't matter which I do, permit or block, it keeps sending the message back up. I can close all my prgrams down and it still sends me he message! What can I do? Thanks in advance for advice. :dogeye: ironman (6770)

326216 2005-02-18 19:56:00 Sometimes on these alert screens there is a box you can tick to "always take this action" or "remember selection" (once you have selected action) so it does not bring up a reminder every time the worm alert arises. I am not sure if is the case with the Norton alerts, but if so, selecting the box prevents the alert recurring. Dadzka (6620)
326217 2005-02-18 21:00:00 When you next see that message, make sure you select Block. Does the Security logs say which ports or what worm it thinks it is, that is trying to access your machine?

If you have granted access to your machine by saying "Allow", then I would give the computer a thorough scan with your updated Antivirus now. Not all alerts given by firewalls indicate something smelly is afoot as some give false alerts generated by internet traffic *noise*.
