326156 2005-02-18 05:58:00 When my PC boots up, and i go into Windows Explorer and click on Program Files, the computer freezes...this also happens when running virus scanning software...It seems to freeze when it scans Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Uninstall.isu. I have a Compaq 5WV350 with a Barracuta 120GB HDD running Win XP Pro and 64Mb RAM...Please Help as I use this program regularly for creating Scrapbooks etc. dsteve (32)
326157 2005-02-18 06:05:00 ok first off, u should *seriously* consider getting some more RAM. it'll do you wonders man, trust me.

secondly, if you think the particular problem lies within that specific photoshop file then i'd suggest doing an uninstall and clean of the lil proggy. things usually sort themselves out after that, and if that doesn't work i guess you can always check some photoshop forums and see if anyone else is experiencing your plight as well.

326158 2005-02-18 06:07:00 This would probobly be due to lost sectors or clusters. And since you have not stated which format you hard-disk has (FAT32/NTFS), I would suggest that you run scan disk. ScaredEye (7358)

Cripes how does it run at all, is it a special slimmed down version of XP

Get yourself at least another 256MB of ram better, get 512MB or roll it back to Windows 95, better still put a light weight Linux distro on it .

Edit, how does it run PS, you'd run out of memory on a couple of files .
