2005-02-18 04:19:00 | to start Outlook checking for emails. Is there any way to set Outlook up, when starting, to check for emails? This is my first use of Outlook.OE used to when started. And I have been on MS site and looked at options in the program. Using Outlook 2003 on XP Pro. Thanks.

2005-02-18 08:44:00 | For starters, do you have "Launch email application after processing" ticked in Mailwasher Tools>Options>General? I can't recall the setting for the next step (automatic download) but if nobody else posts it sooner I'll have a look tomorrow. Cheers Billy 8-{)

2005-02-18 09:06:00 | Hi Billy.Yes,after clicking "Process mail" in Mailwasher,it opens Outlook.Which just sits there.I have to click on send/receive to kick it into gear.Which it then does. It's just that when OExpress opened on the old pc,it started trying to send/receive straight away. Also if I open Outlook/Mailwasher/firefox, the dial up screen doesn't appear ,so have to go online first.Perhaps it's a security thing with XP? | Neil McC (178) | |
2005-02-18 09:10:00 | Use spampal. Once configured it opens up without pressing send/receive. And once u make an email rule tell it to do whatever. Even delete spam from the isp server, and u wont see it. | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |

2005-02-18 09:36:00 | Found my settings, in Outlook>Tools>Options I have mail delivery set to check every minute. I think that may be as close as you can get to an instant no-click download. Cheers Billy 8-{)

2005-02-18 18:55:00 | Thanks for your replies.I think that's the only option Billy.I actually prefer Outlook not to check while open, that's what mailwasher is for!All I have to do now is tell my wife "that's how it now works". She's a bit freeked out with this new pc! | Neil McC (178) | |
2005-02-18 21:04:00 | outlookexpress/optoins/general.................TICK ....send and receive messages at startup.................simple. The program in question was Outlook, not Outlook Express drc. Neil previously used OE but has changed to Outlook with a new computer. Cheers Billy 8-{)
