2005-02-17 23:25:00 | Hi, I have powertoys installed on my computer but i cant seem to get Timershot to work. It wont reconise my usb webcamera as a device. I also have a anolouge video camera connected thru a winfast tv2000 capture card that it wont reconise either. It says under Status that theres no device available. Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Have; Windows xp home sp2 P4 2.26 ghz 512mb ram 80 gb hd dynavision usb webcam winfast tv2000 deluxe capture card If you need to know anything else just ask. Cheers lazydog.

2005-02-17 23:53:00 | Does the tuner and cam work normally without powertoys?? Have u installed the drivers for the tuner and the webcam?? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2005-02-18 08:05:00 | Yes i can use both cameras on other programs eg; webcam on yahoo messenger and video camera on my editing programes except microsoft moviemaker (which i rarely used anyway) so maybe its a microsoft issue?. I've downloaded and installed the latest Powertoys (after removing them first) to see if that might help but no, it still wont recognise any of my cameras as a device. Any help welcomed :) Would be happy with any other freeware program that works the same way. Anyone know of one? Cheers, lazydog

2005-02-18 08:22:00 | Have u got the leadtek tuner program installed and tried the analogue video cam thru there?? That would probably wouldnt have drivers, unless its a firewire digital video cam. Have u got the expert or deluxe tuner?? Is it the tuner u have?? which has a s-video plug on the back of it?? If u have the deluxe and a s-video in for the expert? Somehow I think both of your cams arent supported. I use a USB cam here and just tried timershot, it works fine.

2005-02-19 05:13:00 | I have the deluxe version that has the s/video conection which i use to connect to my analouge Hi8 camcorder. Works a treat. I capture it thru ulead media studio pro, video studio7, virtual dub and edit on those programs or premiere depending on what i'm doing. I use the usb camcorder mainly for yahoo messenger but have captured footage thru the above programs above. I have the winfast entertainment software installed and have captured video thru that programe as well. I have firewire but no digital video camera as yet. Its just the timershot program that i cant get to work?. For some reason it wont reconise either of my cameras as a device.

2005-02-19 05:26:00 | Hmm OK not too sure why it doesnt work. Has either cam got a mode switch on it?? maybe it needs flicking over. Try the USB cam in another USB port, see what happens.

2005-02-19 08:12:00 | I just tried that but its still not working. Never mind, do you know of any free programs that does the same or similar thing?. Thanks for giving it a go. Cheers, lazydog. | lazydog (148) | |
2005-02-19 08:52:00 | What exactly do u want a timer for?? I would just use My computer, and take pics. Or do u want to use the cam for something like security?? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2005-02-19 09:22:00 | Yeah, i want it for security so i can turn it on when i go out. It wont be running all the time, just an hour or so every other day. | lazydog (148) | |
2005-02-19 09:31:00 | OK. You could try something like http://www.download.com search for something like video surveillance or something, BUT it might NOT be free. | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
