You buy a motherboard that comes without a back plane and this effectively nullifies you installing it (without the hassle of removing the mobo again. You have been waiting 5 days for a replacement :horrified B#gger that for a joke. They should either replace with new mobo (with backplane) or refund instantly. Then they can b1tch to their suppliers about slack product control. Stuff this politically correct give them a chance crud. Get hard on them. A decent shop would have done this without asking in the first place. Get medieval on them. |

If the product cannot be used without the backplate then replacement within 48 hours would be in order for a stock item, or provision of a full refund (in cash, not just a credit note) if they are not able to replace it or offer a suitable substitute. I guess it may not matter all that much so long as it is happening to somebody else, but to a person expecting to be able to use their purchase immediately it may well be a very big deal. The three P's come into play again: Persistence, Politeness and Patience, with the latter kept on a short leash for such an obvious and easily remediable failing. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

Pedant :rolleyes: seen plenty in cellophane, but I'll modify it for you Met's so's there's no confusion in what I was trying to convey. <gross sarcasm alert>Was the box sealed or taped shut with a sticker over the cardboard latch (or some such), was the antistatic bag sealed in some way that was intact, was the box and goodies contained therein in good nick, did the retailer look shifty, nervious, blush or could hardly contain a smirk when you handed over your do$h, were their eyes too close together or could you not see them because of the mask?</end wit> ;) |

I got about 40 billion of these backplates . No idea why i threw that in,Just one of the items i salvage in case i need them for thr future . They never fit . *Maybe I can sell them . . . . . . . . |

If he did something logical like calling the store instead of posting here he might find out whats going on. The store might have written his phone number down wrong, could've burnt down, could've called and got an engaged signal while he was on the intarweb posting here - could be anything. Getting the consumer guarantees act etc etc etc out is a bit premature - people have lapses, give them a damn ring and see what they have to say. |

I'm going to their store tommorow, I'll have to see what they have to say for them selves. But there is also a limit to my patience, I am not going to wait for two weeks to hear them say "Sorry, we caouldnt get you one." If I have to use the CGA I will, but I do not want to do that until it is absalutely nessacary. Metla, if you have this infinate number of back plates, could you send me a few?? BTW, there was no tape or anything on the mobo's box. |

Please prove to me you have even 20 billion backplates and I will buy them at 1 cent each. According to my math that will give you $2,000,000. Less cost of course. :lol: |

| 326134 | 2005-02-18 22:28:00 | Sure, six days is a long time, but thats not the point. Oh yes it is the point ninja, 48 hours is quite long enough for an incomplete retail package. The correct response on initial notification was: "Bring it back in and we'll swap it" or "we'll order another and call you whan it arrives." BTW, where did you find this sudden effusion of patience & tolerance? ;) Cheers Billy 8-{) :D |

| 326135 | 2005-02-18 22:45:00 | Seems quite strange, I would have immediatly ordered in another,and set the first back as defective stock..... | Metla (12) | ||
