326060 2005-02-18 01:54:00 I recently loaded Halo for the pc on my computer. When it first loaded, it told me my video card wasn't good enough, but it said i could proceed anyways. so i did and it worked fine. But about 2 weeks later i got a horrible virus that destroyed my computer (It had something to do with the "Service pack 2" update). I got my computer fixed and i want to play halo again but i'm scared to load it again. Could these two problems be related? any response is much appreciated! sdeering312 (7356)
326061 2005-02-18 02:06:00 Hi and Welcome to PressF1 :)

Loading Halo onto your computer and then getting a virus will not be related at all. You need to make sure your computer is secure against such viruses as much as possible by installing all the critical and security patches that Microsoft put out for your operating system. You also need to have a good Antivirus software program that is also regularly updated, and a firewall enabled.

Have you been doing all those things? What was the name of the virus that you got?

326062 2005-02-18 03:33:00 Im not actually sure what my virus was. What it did was make the computer shut down almost instantly when windows started with no warning. it said i was missing a file. in the end , when it was fixed, the people who did it said they couldn't figure it out exactly. They said it might have had something to do with the "Service pack 2" update on the windows update.

PS- Im a student so i am using their fire wall and anti-virus programs.
PPS- Thanks for the quick response!
