We recently bought a new PC, which runs XP. When dialling our ISP and after a connection has been made, new programs started, such as Internet Explorer etc. freeze up for quite some time. For about 4-5 minutes after the connection has been made we are unable to start any programs. However after that time all programs icons that have been clicked on before suddenly start all at once. What could be causing this delay and how can this be fixed? :groan: |

Do a scan for viruses/spyware. |

I have done extensive virus and spyware scans, if there was anything at all it has now been cleaned up. However the problem still persists. What else could it be? |

Try starting one program only, and then another, and another. See if one particular prog is causing the freeze up. |
