326903 2005-02-20 22:39:00 Hi last nite i was playing the pinball game that comes with windows as i have not been able to buy any games yet. While i was doing this a blue screen comes up saying "beginning dump of physical memory". The computer then wouldnt turn off using the normal power button and had to be turned off at the power supply.

I then started it up again and and came up with a file record segment scan which said "File record segment 4180 - 4183 unreadable" and then continued to load up. At the end of the nite i turned off the computer normally and i left a CD in the drive by mistake.

When i started the computer up this morning it asked for the boot system disk which is when i discovered me leaving the disk in the drive. I took the CD out and restarted the computer.

It still asked for the boot system disk which i put in, which of course loaded the setup. when i went to repair it said that there were no hard disks detected, so i tried to reinstall windows with the same results.

Please help me, it is so annoying!

326907 2005-02-21 03:51:00 check the IDE cables, i once had a munted cable and that caused my pc to loose the ability to find my data.

do you hear any clicks or weird noises from your HDD?
can you try your hard drive in another pc?
