326401 2005-02-19 05:31:00 Whats the resolution of your screen now?? and how many colours? If u have no video card drivers, maybe this is the reason some games dont run/work?

Do you know if the videocard is onboard, or is it an AGP/PCI videocard??

326403 2005-02-19 07:04:00 it might be time for a fresh install of xp, that will clean out all the left overs, its good to do it once a year, well thats what i do.... Prescott (11)
326404 2005-02-19 08:00:00 my resolution is 1152x864 high 24 bits my video card is a Intel(R) 82810E Graphics Controller, but i don't know if this is AGP or PCI. but remeber my games and applications did run under these parameters, for some reason they don't anymore. digitalfatality (7371)
326405 2005-02-19 08:12:00 Geez what kind of monitor have u got?? Can u see anything on the screen at that resolution lol.... 24 bit??

I've heard of 16 and 32 bit...

Lower the resolution and see if that fixes something

326406 2005-02-19 08:17:00 im pretty sure that Intel(R) 82810E Graphics Controller is intergrated graphics Prescott (11)
326407 2005-02-19 08:44:00 Sounds like the Windows rot has set in. Quickest way to get performance back would be to reformat it. E|im (87)
326408 2005-02-19 16:52:00 gidday,

I have an HP 510a with the same video card, I think your resulution
may be a bit high and causing a slow down. On mine, it is happier

either 800x600 or 1024x678, it works ok higher, but makes the card work
hard.

Also if you have installed sp2, this very definilty causes things to slow,
and unfortnatley, no formatting will improve things, because it fiddles
with the recovery partition as well.

I use a cleaner called wash and go, which does a deep clean of garbage,
and does help quite a bit.

good luck,

Robby
