326826 2005-02-20 20:10:00 I would try plugging the laptop straight into the router and disable the wireless just to see if you can get it working. That would eliminate the wireless part of it being faulty.
Also, are all disks on all pc's formatted as NTFS?

326827 2005-02-20 20:16:00 It doesnt matter what a system is formatted in on a network.

FAT32/NTFS, or linux based. They'll still see each other if configured properly.

The way a hdd is formatted when on a network, has NOTHING to do with one system, not being able to see another formatted in a different way, or on a different operating system.

326828 2005-02-20 20:50:00 As I said in my original post. Ping works from all PC's, Laptop is working fine so it's not the wireless unless it has to do with the authentication, 10.1.1.0 is the IP range, 255.255.255.0 is the subnet, 10.1.1.1 is the DNS and gateway.

I will look for the sygate file and try the UNC path from command prompt. If all else fails I will format and start again. Easier than shagging around to much.
Cheers

326829 2005-02-20 21:52:00 Iknow, this was more to do with not being able to see the simple file sharing option.

326830 2005-02-20 23:25:00 Yep. Got the meaning of the post now. A good point, the laptop is a new Dell so I assumed it is NTFS but maybe not?? Have to check. A bit slow off the mark this morning. Sometimes the obvious is right in front of you!!
Cheers
