1) Best Registry Cleaner ?

2) Best free Registry Cleaner?

I use XP Home and am not competent to play around in the Registry. Therefore I need a cleaner that will remove by default the useless entries that have accumulated. I don't even know how to back up the Registry or how to use the back up should Murphy's Law kick in.

Any help would be appreciated.

http://www.ccleaner.com does a pretty good job. Its small, free, and cleans ya hdd out and also has an option to clean the registry. I've used this ok and nothing seems to have been affected YET.

best free.......hard to tell. toniarts easycleaner is quite good, ccleaner isn't to bad either.

the problem with reg cleaners is that some programs install invailed entries which are required later on at some point, so if you clean out those invalid entries it may cause more problems later on.
