327174 2005-02-21 09:29:00 I am looking for a video editing programme that will enable me to continually adjust the volume of the audio music tracks within the clips so the background music can at times become louder. Windows MM2 does not enable me to do this without splitting the clip. Does Ulead Video Studio 8, Pinnacle V9, Power Director 4 or any other similar programme do this?. I am trying to find out before I purchase without the hassle of a trial version.

Any info appreciated.

327175 2005-02-21 09:41:00 Hmm not too sure, whether any can alter the volume, after its been recorded. The only programs I've used are Nerovision, Ulead DVD Moviefactory 3.5 which came with this DVD burner.

Altho Adobe Audition, maybe able to do it, as it can load video and sound and gives u 128 tracks to put sounds onto then record it again, back to the video I guess. BUT this isnt free.

I've never tried Pinnacle, Video Studio 8 (I tried 7 but that was a while ago), or Power Director. Altho, I havent tried either to see if it does work.

327176 2005-02-21 10:15:00 Just to clarify my problem - I only want to adjust the volume of the music audio track in the editing process - ie before rendering and finalising. ie LOUD music then becoming softer so speech from video can be heard - then LOUD again. I can't imagine its a difficult thing to be able to do but I'm not sure which of the editing programmes do this - if not most.

Cheers

327177 2005-02-21 15:53:00 i know this doesnt really help, but camtasia studio is a good all round editor, try sending them an email to find out DaveBritton (7395)
327178 2005-02-21 21:08:00 Its entirely possible, I use a ulead program where I add an audio track, and can simply move along the timeline and move the audio track up and down to represent where and when (and how much) the volume changes.

I forget its name though, Ill have to check once i get home.

327179 2005-02-22 03:27:00 Ulead video studio 8 has a new function where you can raise and lower the volume in the time line. Its quite good and should be what your after. I had a play with the trial version of video studio 8 and its a good program for someone who is new to video editing.
