| 327443 | 2005-02-22 19:30:00 | Hello, I am in a sticky situation at th moment with my HP igo laptop . It had windows XP home addition on it . Basically the CD/DVD rom has always been a bit funny, CD s not playing properly from time to time . I made back up CDs before doing a wiping the C drive . On trying to re-istall windows nothing happened and the CD light on the drive stayed on . I phoned PC world and told them of the problem . They said that the CD drive was busted, as expected, took it in and sorted it out . Anyway it's back with me and the same thing is happening . I am getting this message when trying to boot from CD Non emulation booting CD Boot Cannot boot from CD : Code 1 And to make things worse I checked the CD's an they are corrupt! What do i do . Is it possible that the CD/DVD drive is bust again? And what do I do about not having windows xp home addition? I have an official product key under the computer? How do I get XP back? I am really upset . I have a protection plan that runs out at the end of this year . Any advice from you lovely bunch . |

| 327444 | 2005-02-22 20:02:00 | Hello Tomi1978 - have you checked to see if there is a BIOS upgrade available for the laptop ? I've read this sometimes corrects some of these error code problems . | KatiMike (242) | ||
