Now that I have it, umm . . . . what do I do with it? I have installed 3 diff linux distros before but they were very simple and they booted from CD's that were given to me . This is the first time I have downloaded one . Can I simply burn this to CD and do the same or is there something different I do with this download . cheers |

Can I simply burn this to CD and do the same or is there something different I do with this download . What CD burning software do you have? The ISO's need to be burnt as an Image file type so that they will be bootable . Haven't used Nero for yonks, but you need to poke around and select "other" for CD type and then Image I think . Someone should be able to give you more specific details for Nero or whatever other burning software you have . If you don't burn the ISO as an image, then it won't be bootable . You know you have done it correctly when you view the burnt CD in Explorer and you see several files and folders present (the ISO image expands out into a tree on the CD when burnt as a image) . If burnt incorrectly you will only see a single file, and that would be the . iso file . |

| 327772 | 2005-02-24 07:45:00 | I have Nero and can find the 'burn image' but in the file I downloaded I dont appear to have an .iso file. The file I downloaded was a winrar file which I extracted to a folder on my desktop. Opening this I see no iso file. | sam m (517) | ||
| 327773 | 2005-02-24 07:50:00 | ignore that..... eyes need testing it was the whole file, no need to extract. :dogeye: |
