| 327593 | 2005-02-23 10:27:00 | Hey I'm running gnome on my gentoo system and have two questions. 1) How can I change the default from Single Clicking to open icons to double clicking. I've changed the value in GConf-Editor (unticked single click) but It hasn't done everything 2) How can I make a module not automatically load at boot... I have a firewire port built into my laptop and the system always loads the module eth1394 and detects that firewire card as eth0 and not my natsemi based ethernet port - Currently i have to open a terminal and go modpropbe -r eth1394 modprobe -r natsemi modprobe natsemi And then my ethernet card works as normal. Any way around this? Ash |

| 327595 | 2005-02-24 01:14:00 | The eth0 problem is fixable. All you need in /etc/modules.conf is an alias so it uses netsemi foreth0. I forget the exact syntax it might be "alias eth0 netsemi" or "eth0 alias netsemi" (and Gentoo might have got an "improvement" on modules.conf ... But it's modules.conf in Red Hat and Mandrake. ;)). man modules.conf will tell you. The double/single click should be fixable too, just explore the various setup type menu trees you get from the Gnome foot. Sorry, but I don't use the GUIs much. |
