Hi All

I am hoping somebody here can help me with a wee problem I have. I have googled this to death and cannot find an answer to it.

I am running Windows XP Pro and am trying to sort out my music collection which is extensive. I have been going through checking the file names and properties etc and editing them if I find an error or want to add or remove information.

When I go into an album folder I Ctrl+A to select all my files and then right click and choose properties and then click on the 'summary' tab. 99% of the time I can edit the artist, album title, track number, year etc etc. On a very few occasions however it won't bring up all these options (and clicking between advanced and simple doesn't help) and I can't edit the properties. I can't for the life of me figure out why!

Anyone that may be able to shed some light on this would be very much appreciated.

Thanks. :o

327463 2005-02-22 23:34:00 If the file is protected, or has "Read Only" attributes set you will be unable to edit those details. godfather (25)
327464 2005-02-23 02:07:00 Hi Godfather

Thanks for your reply . The files are not protected (one of the first things I checked) . It doesn't make much sense!!!

Still scratching my head .

Thanks anyway .

327465 2005-02-23 02:33:00 Are there any other file types in that folder? For example: if you also selected a .ogg file when you went ctrl-a, you would not be able to edit MP3 tags as a result. Just make sure all the files you select are the same extension, and you should have no problems.

There are only mp3 files in the folder so I am not sure why this is happening. If I ever find out I will be sure to post the answer here!

All the wood around me has been touched! (Somehow that doesn't quite sound right!!!)

Thanks anyway.
