| 327671 | 2005-02-25 04:48:00 | arggghhh stupid program,. i have reinstalled and uninstalled 3 times now, ccleaner and reg seeker are not finding it all and when i open new mozilla FF its same old all settings same etc? what am i missing? this is not been a good day, should be doing way more other things and instead im stuck with a sick mozilla who wont go away....LOL and it also re in forces why i hate IE! b |

| 327673 | 2005-02-25 05:02:00 | When you go Help > About Mozilla Firefox it still shows as version 0.9? How are you launching it, from a shortcut on the desktop? Have you tried going directly into the new Firefox folder under Programs and starting it from the firefox.exe? What do you mean when you say "its same old all settings same etc"? I think you are still using the same profile that you had with 0.9 as it can remain after uninstalling Firefox. Follow these (www.mozilla.org) instructions and create a new profile to see whether this fixes things (this will give you a new default Firefox without any themes etc). Note, all your bookmarks will also not be present, so before you do that, go Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks > File > Export and save your bookmarks.html onto your desktop. Once you have the new profile running with a fresh Firefox, go to Manage Bookmarks and this time choose Import. Browse to where you saved a backup copy of your bookmarks. See if this helps. :) |

| 327677 | 2005-02-25 05:27:00 | installed again, and all tabs opened....(sesion saver was an extension i had) so new this is not new prog so did it all again, restarted comp and tried again, (have done this three times now, and am totally knacked trying to find that stupid probably one off file some where on my comp).This is OK, it is just showing that you are still using your old profile with all your personal settings in it. If you check under Help > About Mozilla Firefox it should show the new version number. have saved bookmarkson desktop not labeled FF or anything like that so am not sure if that could be causing a prob?The Firefox bookmarks are simply called "bookmarks.html". It is a plain html file which lists all your bookmarks. You can open it up to look at and see what I mean. By putting it on your desktop, just means it is easy to find and import back into your new Profile once you have done that step. Just follow the instructions on that page I linked you to for "Create a new profile". :) |

| 327678 | 2005-02-25 06:12:00 | haha me follow instructions? :p anyway i ended up deleting that file as i wanted to get rid ofit all, and start new...... and so i deleted, restarted and re downloaded for a change and now i have a nice new FF and it now has some extentions, and off to get a new theme....LOL almost back to normal... :thumbs: and me smileys work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a day all because me smileys wont work???? well i learnt a hell of a lot today, how to use reg cleaner type progs and where is a file and how to download lots so that its iritating and how i still hate IE..... next instalment of beetle mania due next week...:p topic to be random..... :@@: thanxs all, beetle |

Thanxs all. Even with the odd grumble round here this is a great place to get help.
