It is almost always better to use a URL than to Google, and favourites makes it easy. Another thing could be to clear out your temporary internet files, you might be getting a few hits pulled up fromcache. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

IMO, it's the work of sites targeting googles listing and google own bots. Uhmm, in this instance though, this is what a search for NHL (www.google.co.nz) on google threw up for me. BTW Speedy, do you think that was really helpful. |

The way I read it he is getting abnormal search results with whatever he does a Google search for. |

| 327485 | 2005-02-23 05:35:00 | The results that you posted don't look like Google results. Were your search results on a Google page or not? How were you submitting them? | PaulD (232) | ||
| 327486 | 2005-02-23 05:58:00 | It'd be helpful if you posted a link to your actual search and/or a screen shot . How do you connect to the net, dialup, cable, DSL, are you networked? Can we assume your using IE on WindowsXX? What happens if you use a different browser, what have you got listed in your IE > Properties > Files button > Downloaded Files/Objects > files in the Downloaded Files folder > Properties/Dependencies? What antivirus, antispywareand firewall software (& versions) are you using? |

| 327487 | 2005-02-23 06:13:00 | I would first look for an infection from CWS (CoolWebSearch). The run-of-the-mill AdWare products are ineffective against many CWS variants, and it usually needs CWShredder to be run. "FindWhat" is known to be an affilliate of CWS, hence the suspicion (and as is plain in the pcguy posts) that the search is being redirected via FW. Download the stand-alone version of CWShredder from here. www.intermute.com The stand-alone version *should* still be free. |
