328145 2005-02-25 14:10:00 I am planning to give my OS, XP Home, a partition of it's own. Do I need to include the I386 folder? Are there any other folders that I should include? :) Vince (406)
328146 2005-02-25 14:40:00 Just give XP a partition of about three gig it will add the needed folders. I am assuming you are going to create a data partition for all your work mikebartnz (21)

The I386 is if you want, in effect, the CD on your partition. Handy if iWindows ever needs to load some extra files but probably not likely to be a regular occurence, easier to just get the CD back out if that situation should ever arise.
Uness your hard drive is enormous and you have tons of space. :-)

328150 2005-02-26 10:25:00 This is how my C: looks:

4.72Gb used.

Main folders under it:

Documents & Settings
Program Files
System Volume Information
Windows

Thats it. (Not counting the sub-folders of course)

I have two 80GB drives. I intend to give separet partitions to OS, Programs, Data and Ghost Image.

I was thinking of restoring the OS from the Ghost image after partitioning C. Does that sound alright to you?
