| 327980 | 2005-02-24 22:50:00 | We get a tremendous amount of spam addressed to "philbert" @ our domain name. It comes from a huge variety of domains and so we cannot "block" any particular domain (eg: @hotmail.com ; this domain was the first one to be added to our "Kill List"). Is there a virus in the wild that generates this spam ? Does it reveal domain names that have "open" or unlimited relay ? If so then surely co-operative isp around the world could identify and share a list, much like antivirus .dat files, to block all mail, or even an email name such as "philbert" ALSO: our FTGate mail server shows a number of emails as having been received from <postmaster@local> Is this a default address enabling mass mailout to be recognised by mail servers generally ? :angry |

| 327981 | 2005-02-24 22:55:00 | Chances are one of your mates thinks they have up-to-date Anti-Virus software but like (according to some stat I saw a month or two back) only 2 out of every 5 people who have AV software have it up-to-date. Send out an Email to everybody in your address book with a Link to AVG Free, and ask them to all check their AV software. Chill. |

| 327982 | 2005-02-24 23:20:00 | Get spampal. This will let u ban / blacklist a domain with a wildcard / *@ I've got around 40-50 banned domains known for spamming in spampal. The good thing bout spampal, is it also uses whitelists, you can add known good email addies to it, so u can add ppl you know to it. And u still get emails. |
