328079 2005-02-26 03:22:00 just possible you may be barking up the wrong tree perhaps (talking from my own experience with this particular problem). If you are running a firewall you MAY need to set your pop3 acct (example: pop3.xtra.xo.nz or whatever) in the firewall as a 'trusted site'. Had no end of hair tearing before I came across this one.

But i have run my firewall with outlook express for years??

Thanks PaulD.. thats the problem im having, Did just as he said and now it sends and recieves, but it dosn't pop up and show the avg scanning the emails like it used to?

And so had I ;) Well sure as hell not OE (the virus magnet) but both the email client I use and mailwasher. When I upgraded to AVG7 there was the problem you described. The fix was as I said in my previous post. It's cos avg7 works in a different way to avg6 and yer firewall needs to have the pop acct set in it as a trusted site. Well it does with ZA_pro anyway. The free ver of ZA I think is different.
