327935 2005-02-25 04:43:00 I just did a check with spyware doctor and It found 450+ infections at 96%, but it doesnt do me any good if I can't fix them with that program. Slacker (5977)
327936 2005-02-25 04:47:00 Well I would get trojan remover anyway. Spyware may not be as good as this. This finds spyware and trojans and will also scan the registry. Speedy Gonzales (78)

327939 2005-02-26 07:32:00 Hi I had exactly this happen to me and every Spy/worm utility I tried was stopped. I found my best solution was to download all the worm (sasser removal etc) to a remote HD and using USB to connect to the main PC, and have it "up and running" before the Worm/virus was able to Zap it. Going in the back door so to speak.
Good Luck

You could try copying taskmgr.exe to say tskm.exe and running the duplicate. You could also try the resource kit utils tlist.exe and kill.exe. You run them from the command prompt. If you can get a task listing from tlist.exe post it here and perhaps someone will recognise a dodgy process. You can get the utils from here:

327941 2005-02-27 01:20:00 Also, for latest and common virus and worms, download and run a hunter/killer that requires no install. It is a use once and throw away type. Stinger from here download.nai.com pheonix (36)
327942 2005-02-27 01:27:00 Also, give it a real cleanup, as some malware hides itself in temp folders and Internet cache. Use Ccleaner ( www.ccleaner.com ). On installing and opening, go options-settings and untick the box " Only delete files....etc" Then Ok close that window, tick all the boxes and click on the "Run Cleaner" button. Then run all the anti-spyware and anti-virus programs. pheonix (36)
