If i go to my avg 7 Email Scanner "properties" and in the "network connection" i can select only "Lan" or "Dial up" if i select lan the scanner does not scan the emails, if i select dial up i get The server responded with an error. Account: 'pop3.xtra.co.nz', Server: 'pop3.xtra.co.nz', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90 it always used to work untill i got this broardband modem insalled. | 328075 | 2005-02-25 17:13:00 | 'cannot connect to mail server' doesn't sound llike a problem with avg it sound's like you havent changed the settings in the mail program so that it also uses the lan to connect not your dial up .........try disabling avg (right clik the systm tray icon then 'quit avg control center' then try to send yourself an email........if it doesn't work then it sure aint avg that's the problem.......goto emailprog/tools/accounts/mail/properties/connection and make sure it's set to use the lan .......... | drcspy (146) | ||

If you are running a firewall you MAY need to set your pop3 acct (example: pop3.xtra.xo.nz or whatever) in the firewall as a 'trusted site'.
