| 329334 | 2005-03-01 10:07:00 | I'm having a problem with a cd writer on a WinXP machine . If I place a cd into the drive while the computer is going then the computer does not read it - if I look at the drive in Windows Explorer it shows nothing there (although it does not say insert disk into drive) . However if the cd is in the drive when the computer is switched on and booted it can read the disk fine . I thought the drive was faulty so replaced it with a new cd writer - but the new drive behaves in the same way so I guess the problem is not the drive but something about the computer . Anybody got any ideas about this? Thanks DavidC |
