why do you think its a coaster? cant read it ??? mine sometimes says that wont work sometimes and they turn out fine...

sorry not much help T.

:(
Thats another thing Beet, said it had burned, tried to play it,it came up on M/S media player, which said there was nothing on the cd.Tried another disc I had burnt some time ago and it opened it in Picassa,so tried my recent one and bugger me,it came up as alright.
So now I am not sure how one gets to view pics in what medium.
In the past it has shown pics, never noticed what it came up on.
Speedy,what a patient fellow you are,unflappable too.
Never respond like Met and me,we love to bite.

329135 2005-03-02 05:21:00 What did u do Cicero for it to be a coaster??

Did u do this? To add pics, use Nero express. Then select Video/pictures. And select videocd or super video cd. This will let u burn pics to a normal CD. Then it'll work.
Do you think that Nero Express would come on an update,I updated, thinking that was the problem, prior to removing and reinstalling. Its just that its not there now?

329136 2005-03-02 05:41:00 Make a shortcut on your desktop. See if it works.

Click on the desktop, right mouse / New ---> shortcut, then copy and paste this in the window that appears.

"C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\nero.exe" /w

Then Give the shortcut a name. Double click on the shortcut u created, and thats Nero Express. The Nero Express entry should be in program files/Nero retail/OEM whatever in the menu. If thats where u looked for it.

What I want Speedy is,the thing that will read the cd,Nero doesn't does it?

329138 2005-03-02 06:01:00 Read what CD?? Have u made the pics CD?? if so, try it in an external DVD player, if u have one, and if u used videocd to burn the pics to the cd.

If your DVD (external one says it can handle / read videocd's it'll read this cd).

Don't have a dvd, waiting for a dvd burner HD jobbie to come down in price.

329140 2005-03-02 06:12:00 You DONT need a DVD burner, or a DVD player (internal on your PC) for pictures .

They'll fit on a normal cd, if u can find nero express / video/pictures, and select the video cd option . And then add the pics, and then burn them to the CD .

U have got a cd burner havent u?? Select the video cd option burn the pics and the burner u have now should read the pics . Coz its not actually a DVD, its a cd with pictures on it .

Once you've burned the pics to CD .

What happens when you put the CD of pics into the CD player and shut the drawer? Does Windows auto-play start up?

Seems to depend, like I said earlier,I put in newly burnt cd and it came up on media player,I put anther one in and it showed them on picasa.
The Media player thing said there was nothing on the disc, when there was.

329143 2005-03-02 10:23:00 Hope this will clear things up a bit.

If you want to put some photos onto a CD, just select them, right click one of them and send to CD drive.

If you want to burn an image file e.g. file.iso You should use nero or or similar. An image file is a snapshot of a complete disc, similar to a zip with everything contained in one .iso file.

This (isorecorder.alexfeinman.com) is what I use to make image files of CD's and to burn them to blank CD's as well. Once installed it just works from a right click menu.

Also I would only reccomend CD-R discs, as they are cheaper than chips, you can keep adding to them untill they are full. CD-RW are alright but you can encounter problems when using in a different drive.
