330358 2005-03-04 01:59:00 If not click Start, run then type "control userpasswords2" then click ok then untick Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer. HTH  Overdrive_5000 (4950)
330359 2005-03-04 04:06:00 I did this but now the OS won't let me back in - I've since reloaded the system and followed your advice carefully again - and gues what - it still caused problems - the PC kept saying it was starting up but just never did - even after waiting an hour... So - I'm currently reloading it again.
It's an ACER pc with the preloaded OS - and reloading discs - not the true MS OS discs. Cleans off both drives and all programs - but I doubt whether it formats it properly - dunno. Has anyone got any way to eliminate the LOGON screens in XP Home without causing issues?

330360 2005-03-05 03:12:00 Windows will only prompt you for a login name if you have more than one user or you have set a password (other than blank). Otherwise TweakUI (www.microsoft.com) has an option for auto logon. Alpha (3520)
