330267 2005-03-06 07:29:00 Thanks Jen for the feedback, appreciated! Thats what Im after...!!
Frozen-Bubble is on there, apparently broken thou (Will check it out after Ive done this).

Just remembered I've left /etc/resolv.conf there so I needa kill that and setup dhcpcd for sure!

Maybe the Knoppix hw-detect is the best bet here....

330268 2005-03-06 07:38:00 I got my internet going by adding a new eth1 with DHCP, the first one I configured manually and, as Jen says had it going but no net, anyway, set it up the same except for DHCP.

How do I hack Xorg, or shall I wait for the walk through until you've got it sorted Chill? I'd love to have a tootle around at a decent res, screen shots look good Jen, a bit diff to KDE.

330269 2005-03-06 07:43:00 forget my last post, i have already said that, sorry  Prescott (11)
330270 2005-03-06 07:49:00 cd /etc/X11
mv xorg.conf xorg.conf.old
cp xorg.conf.old xorg.conf

This way xorg.conf is in Memory, so its editable...

If the internet isnt working, try:
route add default gw 192.168.X.Y
where X.Y is your router.
You may want to:
echo "nameserver 192.168.X.Y" > /etc/resolv.conf

330271 2005-03-06 07:51:00 Well I am posting this live from the LIveCD :D

Had a bit of a blonde moment with my net-setup eth0 settings ... which are all sorted now

nano -w /etc/X11/xorg.conf

I got my monitor manual out and added the Horiz and Vert line myself using the specification from the manual.

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
VendorName "Monitor Vendor"
ModelName "Monitor Model"
HorizSync 30.0 - 70.0
VertRefresh 50 - 110.0 Then you log out of X using the GUI log out option, and then type "startx" again. Fixed mine. :)

330272 2005-03-06 09:51:00 Hi Chill
An opinion from an onlooker...
I don't understand the tech stuff, but judging by Jen's screenshots, it scores really well on appearance.
Nice colour & design make it a good-looker.

330274 2005-03-06 18:34:00 Looks good Chill,

I thought i might file a bug report ;)

1. compbatant is not in the /etc/hosts file. This is a big no no with gnome
2. Maybe programs like qtparted should have a place in the gnome applications menu for easier access.

3. Maybe we could have some boot options when we start up, e.g Frame Buffer size etc.

4. I give this my

330275 2005-03-07 03:40:00 God, it looks great. Nice work!

I downloaded it and seeded 600MB or so - I would do more but I have to ration my bandwidth carefully.

I want to dual boot it actually, replace my FC3 with it.

330276 2005-03-07 04:14:00 Thanks for the positive Feedback, george and ill!
/etc/hosts does need editing, and /etc/resolv.conf needs removing
The Gnome menu's need lots added - They'll come in the next release.

Frame-buffer on boot? Im thinking about scrapping the whole thing coz Im not a fan of it. When I build the next one with the latest 2.6.11-love1 kernel I probably wont do it with that..

What other sorta things would you guys like to see then? Additions? Amendments? I'll be taking a CD or two to the LUG tonight :D
