Beginning recently, 20 minutes after I turn on my PC (AMD Athlon XP, 512mb RAM, WinXP Pro) I will try to run Internet Explorer and it won't run nor will Task Manager, the green icon appears in the side of the system tray but that's it - it won't run

I have done virus and spyware checks a million times and installed all the avalible Windows updates

Any ideas as this is really beginning to annoy me! Oh and is it possible to format my HDD and reinstall Windows XP Pro off the CD if it is an upgrade version?

330842 2005-03-05 06:44:00 heres a batch file designed to restore default file associations in xp copy and paste whats below these stars into a notepad file and save as fileassoc.bat then double clik it.........
