Is Libre office or open office good enough to create a database to record my collection of model aircraft? |

Short answer is yes. I have OO and I could certainly do it with that. |

They say Kingsoft office is pretty good. And its free. Only diff between this and the Pro / purchased version is Macros and VBA support. Which I dont use anyway |

LibreOffice Base is pretty good. I haven't used it much but it seems to compare well with an older version of MS Office Access I used some years ago. |

Kingsoft is free although there is a paid version too. On windows I have found Kingsoft to be completely stable where as OO and Libre at the time were not very stable (for me anyway) |

But Kingsoft free doesn't have a database. |

I like Libre Office, but compared to Access 2013 Libre Base is awful. For something like what you want it to do though,I imagine it'd do the job :thumbs |

I installed Libreoffice and it needs Java to work properly. Not wanting to install java if possible.
Would the Kingsoft free do the job in a spreadsheet?? |

Weird, I run Libre 4.0.2.2 without Java installed. Only do a few docs and the occasional spreadsheet though. |
